A quick trick for tough, anxiety-filled days (especially during quarantine)



While seeing the best in everything is a goal of mine, some days you wake up and just sense an uphill battle. During this quarantine, I've had my fair share of days like that.


But I've found a helpful routine in choosing a few words to ground me throughout the day. I use those words to guide how I want to act and how I want to encourage myself to feel–and while that may sound idealistic (and to be fair, it is), it also has the capacity to transform my outlook in the moment.


This morning I decided to be confident in myself and present in the moment. In times of high anxiety and stress, I repeated this phrase, "today I'm confident in myself and present in the moment." If the moment was filled with anxiety, I accepted that, but also tried not to dwell in the future or in the past. If a moment of self-doubt began to hit me, I reminded myself that today I am living confidence–breathe in, breathe out. You are strong.
